From Purpose & Passion: Becoming the Dance - Moving to the Voices of Reason and Passion "We often say to ourselves that we “have to be realistic”and that shuts down creativity. Or we say that we “aren’t linear, so I can’t do _______,” shutting down our logical self. Ignoring or denying one side is at your peril. At some point, the imbalance will cause an empty feelingof lack, or overwhelm, or distress. Treating each as equals brings the fullness of all of your parts in alignment. And the balanced internal will begin to be reflected in the external. Unfortunately, society looks at the external first and judges your valueyour meaningbased on what is perceived as right for you, disregarding what you might desire. Wanting to fit in, you make choices that fit those external judgments, instead of following your internal guidance. To discover and acknowledge all of who you are, you must let go of the idea that you have to fit into someone else’s view of what’s right for you. What is critically important is to rediscover your internal selves, to follow both that voice of passion and that voice of reason within that will reveal your purpose."
From Creating a Clear, Compelling Vision: Vision and Living in the Moment "How can living in the moment and creating a visionwhich seems like a far-off point in timebe mutually dependent? Being in the present moment means that you are not thinking about regrets over something that happened in the past. Nor are you thinking about what might happen in the next moment. You are, without thinking, experiencing the feelings, sights, and sounds within and around you right now. This state of self-awareness is the same as the moment in which you just became aware. If you are truly in the present moment, within your being, you won’t be thinking about which direction is best for you. You won’t have to choose from the old patterns that produce limited beliefs. New alternatives will appear as your inner vision. These messages from your true being will guide you. In the present moment you merge with your self-expression. You don’t question your next move, or your choices, or what the results will be in the end. You are in the natural flow. When this happens, all of your experiences are affected. You will know what you need to know, when you need to know it. As your trust in the moment increases, you begin to experience less anxiety about the past and the future, and are more in tune with your surroundings. There’s synchronicity. Inspiration and enthusiasm increase, and as they do, you feel happier. When you are happy, you become more spontaneous, creative, and productive."
From Remarkable Management Skills: Serve Each Other "When I was still in grade school, I heard a quote that altered forever the way I viewed my actions toward others. That quote was from Zig Ziglar, who said, “You can get everything in life that you want, if you help enough other people get what they want.” As I incorporated Zig’s concept into my actions, I started to look at every situation as an opportunity to find what I could do to help make other people’s lives easier. I was not always successful, but by making an effort, I began to see the positive affect those actions had on other people, and ultimately for myself. My first inclination was to limit this to personal interactions. But, once I realized the value of this thinking, I soon applied it to all of my business interactions as well. What would happen if each of us took the idea to heart and truly applied it to each interaction with others? Imagine how effortless our lives would become, and what we would have in our lives in return. If we were all looking out for and caring about how the other person would benefit, imagine how our work lives would improve."
From Vibrant & Lasting Relationships: Intentional Love - Attracting Relationships You Truly Desire "Those sneaky beliefs were everywhere I looked! Most often they appeared in “but” statements… I bring forth the perfect relationship, but I don’t believe it exists… I bring forth prosperity, but it goes out faster than it comes in… I bring forth ease and joy, but life just keeps bringing in more of the opposite… Keep in mind, those “buts” didn’t always come while I was saying my affirmations. Instead, they often came up in conversations with others, in humorous things I’d say to myself, or as passing thoughts. What I say and how I think are part of my awareness, creating that energy, no matter how slight the thought is, or how frequently I might utter a statement about that thought. When the energy is there, the law of attraction does its work, effectively canceling out the affirmation that will bring what I want into my life. Whether joking or serious, thoughts make up my belief system, even if I don’t immediately realize they are a part of my thinking. Why then, when I removed the sneaky belief from my stated intention for a personal relationship, did it take another year before I received what I asked for? Because, although the universe always provides the answer, there is another aspect to consider: I have to be ready to receive or allow in what I am asking for." |
